Disney World and Disneyland have some of the best special effects you’ll see just about anywhere.

From effects that make it feel like you’re being apprehended by Star Wars’ First Order to effects that make you feel like you’re flying over Pandora to fireworks and projections that light up the night, Disney World knows how to put on a spectacular show. However, special effects don’t always go according to plan, like what happened recently with Disneyland’s Fantasmic.
Because of that, Disney has released a statement that it would temporarily suspend fire effects in shows and other entertainment similar to those used in Disneyland’s Fantasmic! This temporary suspension is being extended to ALL Disney Parks, including Disneyland, Disney World, and the international parks.
NEW: In an updated statement, Disneyland says the cause of the Fantasmic dragon fire remains under investigation.
Officials also said similar fire effects used during select Disney shows and experiences globally will be temporarily suspended “out of an abundance of caution.” pic.twitter.com/jBaQ0cPk55

So how will this affect Disney World? Well, it seems that Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will NOT be affected for now.
However, the Festival of Fantasy Parade in Magic Kingdom will change temporarily. In that parade, a dragon similar to the one in Disneyland’s Fantasmic! releases fire from its mouth. That effect will not be seen in Festival of Fantasy, at least for a little while according to Scott Gustin on Twitter.
NEW: Walt Disney World says the only impact will be the temporary suspension of fire effects on the Maleficent float in the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom. It doesn’t seem like any other shows at Disney World will be affected by this suspension, which is being done “out of an abundance of caution.” This suspension of fire effects will likely remain in place for at least as long as it takes Disney to research what happened with Fantasmic! and make adjustments to prevent it from happening again.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more news about the Fantasmic! fire and report back with what we learn, so be sure to check back with AllEars often. We’ll also be sure to let you know if and when the fire effects might return to Disney Parks.
