"It's Going to Happen" — Celebrity Comments on the Possibility of a Disney Movie Sequel!

A beloved Disney movie from 2003 could be getting a sequel soon!

We’ve seen a whole bunch of reboots, remakes, and sequels announced lately, and some stars have even commented on the possibility of returning to the beloved films fans know them from. But now one particular celebrity has commented on a possible sequel for a VERY popular film, and they’re pretty convinced it could happen!

Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan starred in Freak Friday many years ago. In the film, the mother-daughter duo switched bodies, which made for a hilarious comedy. Now, Curtis is (not so subtly) hinting at a sequel…again!

At the Producers Guild of America Awards, Lee Curtis spoke with Variety about the possibility of a sequel. According to Curtis, “It’s going to happen. Without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’ It’s going to happen.”

This isn’t the first time Curtis has mentioned the possibility of a sequel. Previously, she shared a photo of her and Lohan together teasing a reunion. Her caption was “It’s Friday. I’m just sayin! Freaky fingers crossed!”

Variety points out that Lohan even chimed in, commenting on the post with a crossed fingers emoji as well as a heart-eyes smiley face and two hands up.

Back in November, Curtis also commented on the possibility saying “There is no scheduled date, but we’re talking. People are talking. The right people are talking.” At that point, she indicated that she thought Disney was interested and they were talking.

We actually shared some news about Curtis discussing a potential sequel back in October of 2022 as well. Curtis mentioned, “I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.” So it’s not the first time Curtis seems to have championed this.
