Do you love watching Marvel movies at home on Disney+? Are you just counting down the days until Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives on the platform (hint: it’s SOON)?

Well, you’ll be able to watch that and other Marvel movies on Disney+ in a NEW way — and it will be almost like seeing — and HEARING — an IMAX movie on your TV!
We already told you about the IMAX Enhanced feature on Disney+. You can already use this feature on 13 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, which gives you the option to watch the movies with the IMAX Expanded Aspect Ratio of 1:90:1, which means you get 26% more picture for select scenes.

Well, those movies are about to SOUND better, too. Disney+ will ENHANCE its IMAX Enhanced feature to include IMAX’s signature sound by DTS. This will enable an “elevated end-to-end experience specially specially calibrated to provide fans at home with IMAX-quality picture and sound.”

You will need to have an IMAX Enhanced certified TV to use the feature, though from manufacturers like Sony and Hisense or an IMAX Enhanced certified AV receiver from manufacturers like Denon, Marantz, and JBL.
“We’re excited to roll out the next evolution of IMAX Enhanced technology on Disney+ in the coming year,” said Jerrell Jimerson, Executive Vice President of Product, Disney Streaming. “This unique collaboration extends our long-standing relationship between Disney and IMAX and we look forward to delivering this new immersive audio experience alongside premium playback quality for current and future titles to our audiences around the world.”

Currently, the list of movies with IMAX Enhanced features on Disney+ includes Shang-Chi, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Black Widow. IMAX Signature Sound will be coming to those movies (and more) sometime in 2023.

In the meantime, you can watch the ENTIRE Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+ with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arriving on February 1st.
