A NEW Princess Movie Is Reportedly in the Works at Disney

Disney Princesses are a big part of pop culture, and as the world has evolved, so, too, have the princesses.

You probably already know everything there is to know about the kind Cinderella, the brave Merida (see what we did there?), and the daring Rapunzel. But soon a NEW princess may be joining their ranks!

According to Deadline, Disney has tapped Bend It Like Beckham filmmakers Gurinder Chadha and Paul Mayeda Berges to make a new movie musical inspired by a “dynamic” princess from Indian history!

Both Chadha and Berges are set to write the new movie, with Chadha also directing and producing. The plot is still a secret, but the project will reportedly fall under Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. This means the film is more than likely a live-action one.

Chadha and Berges are not new to the world of musicals. In 2015, the pair created a stage musical version of Bend It Like Beckham in London’s West End — that project received critical praise and several awards.
