Shanghai Disney Resort has faced many openings and closures due to the strict health and safety guidelines that have been enacted in China. Just under two weeks after announcing a phased reopening of the resort, Shanghai Disneyland is closing again.

Shanghai Disney Resort has once again shut its doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic as of November 29th, 2022. The resort began a phased reopening on November 17th after having been closed since October 31st, but you’ll have to make other plans if you were heading to Shanghai Disneyland soon.

Disneytown, Wishing Star Park, and the resort hotels will continue to operate normally, according to the Shanghai Disney Resort website.

If you did have reservations for Shanghai Disneyland during this closure period, you’ll be able to use that ticket on any day within the next six months after the park reopens. See the full message from Disney below:

“Guests with tickets to visit Shanghai Disneyland on and/or from November 29, 2022 throughout the time the Park is closed may choose to visit the park on any other day within the next six months from the park reopening day. Your tickets can be redeemed at the park entrance turnstiles with the original Government Identity Card or Travel Document that was used to purchase your original tickets on the day of your next visit, and reservation will not be required.”

At this time, no reopening date has been announced as Shanghai Disney Resort has to follow the health and safety guidelines for pandemic and prevention control — but we’ll keep an eye out and let you know when the resort might reopen.
