3 Things I’ll Never Buy Again at My Disney World Hotel

Anyone who has been to Walt Disney World knows that there’s no shortage of things to buy at the resort’s on-property hotels. From snacks and souvenirs to collectibles and candy, there are many, MANY options. However, some things just aren’t worth picking up after you check in at your Disney World hotel.

The 2026 Disney refillable mug

That’s not to say that most of these items aren’t essential, but rather that for many of them, the smarter play is to pick them up before your arrival.

Let’s begin with purchasing an individual coffee every morning. Now, before the caffeine-heads among you revolt against us, we’re not saying you should give up your morning joe. Just that, instead of purchasing a new coffee at the food court each morning, use the coffee pods and coffee machines that are provided with each Disney World hotel room.

If that doesn’t work for you, then at least purchase a refillable resort mug so you can drink unlimited coffee to your heart’s delight each day without shelling out each time. The mug will pay for itself pretty quickly.

Next, let’s talk toys. Specifically, you don’t need to pick up souvenirs from the hotel gift shop when you arrive to keep your kids entertained in the room. Instead, pick up some cheaper toys before your trip, like this Melissa & Doug Sticker 24-Page Activity Pad and Sticker Stamper

That way, you can keep the little ones entertained while you’re unpacking and save your souvenir budget for the parks.

And then there’s sunscreen. Sunscreen is essential for a Disney World hotel trip — trust us, you don’t want to end up inadvertently Disney Bounding as Sebastian after hanging out at the hotel pool — but the options sold at Disney are very steeply priced.

For a fraction of the cost, you can fill this Solar Buddies Sunscreen Roller Applicator, which is “engineered for simplicity, making it easy for kids to use. Fill it with your chosen sunscreen, shake, and apply. The roller ball ensures even distribution, while the sponge aids in smooth application.” It holds 100ml or 3.4fl oz.
