Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle Will Get New Look Next Year

Next year marks a momentous occasion for the Walt Disney Company: it’s the company’s 100th anniversary!

Now, 100 years is a big deal, and Disney has already shared some plans on how it’s going BIG for the celebration, including some new 100th anniversary platinum ears. Now, we know that one Disney Castle will be getting a special upgrade for the occasion!

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland is set to get a new look for Disney’s 100th birthday. According to Disney, “the castle will be adorned with elegant platinum banners and bunting, accented by a magnificent cabochon featuring the three Good Fairies who illuminate it with their shimmering pixie dust.”

There will also be two water fountains on each side of the moat with a wishing star on top of one of the castle’s towers. The big 100th anniversary celebration begins in Disneyland on January 27th.

It’s going to be a HUGE year for Disneyland. In addition to the Sleeping Beauty Castle makeover, there will be two NEW nighttime shows, “World of Color – One” in Disney California Adventure and “Wondrous Journeys” in Disneyland.

Disneyland guests will also get to check out the new ToonTown next year, as well as catch a ride on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway! Also, the Magic Happens parade will return to Disneyland!
