HBO Renews ‘House of the Dragon’ For Season 2

It might seem that a second season was all but guaranteed after that successful debut, and HBO just confirmed that like winter, season two is coming.

According to Variety, HBO announced that House of Dragon was renewed for a second season. Francesca Orsi, HBO Programming’s executive vice president said, “We are beyond proud of what the entire ‘House of the Dragon’ team has accomplished with season one. Our phenomenal cast and crew undertook a massive challenge and exceeded all expectations, delivering a show that has already established itself as must-see-TV.”

The series takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series (which inspired Game of Thrones). The series focuses on House Targaryen, one of the legendary families in those stories.

If you haven’t yet watched the show, you can see it on HBO or through an HBO Max subscription — if you don’t already subscribe to HBO Max, you can get a special deal right now through October 22nd to save over 40% if you pay for one year in advance.
