The latest Disney classic get the live-action treatment is one step closer to being made!
Disney’s been in the news a lot lately, whether its been the BTS series coming to Disney+, the 100+ Emmy Nominations the company scored, or the new director for the fourth Captain America movie! This Disney classic just celebrated its 20th anniversary, and now, we have a huge update on the live-action remake that’s in the works!
The live-action Lilo and Stitch movie has found its director! Dean Fleisher-Camp, who recently directed A24’s Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, will be directing the live-action adaptation of the 2002 Disney hit, according to Deadline.
As of right now, Disney has not announced if this movie will go directly to Disney+ like Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, or if it will have a theatrical release before hitting the platform like Encanto. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will be producing the movie, with Ryan Halprin executing producing. Chris Kekaniokalani Bright is in talks to write the screenplay.
This will be Fleisher-Camp’s first live-action film at a major studio following Marcel the Shell with Shoes On. We can’t wait to learn more about this movie, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything else!
In the meantime, there is so much Disney content to take in! We just found out the title for the upcoming National Treasure series that’s coming to Disney+, there’s a new Beauty and the Beast live special coming to ABC, and Marvel’s latest blockbuster, Thor: Love and Thunder is in theaters now!
