We’ve seen things change up quite a bit in the past few months with executives at the company as Disney begins to make big decisions about its future in media. And now, they’ve hired another addition to their metaverse team.

According to Variety, Disney has hired Mark Bozon, a top gaming executive from Apple, to be a senior creative leader for the cross-divisional Next Generation Storytelling initiative. Most recently, Bozon served as “games creative director for Apple Arcade, the tech giant’s game-subscription service.”

In this new position, Bozon will be responsible for leading the creative vision for his group, guiding them to create executable plans. It’s expected that he will build a team to work with Disney businesses across a variety of disciplines, including gaming, film, TV, toys, parks, and more.

In the past few months alone, Disney has made some big strides toward its involvement in the metaverse. During the company’s Q1 earnings call earlier this year, CEO Bob Chapek shared what the metaverse could mean for the theme parks, noting that there will be more digital, data, and interactive features to come in the future.
