According to a press release shared by Spectrum News 13 anchor Greg Angel on Twitter, a state-of-the-art luggage tracking system will be flying into this airport and will feature “efficient tracking and expedited luggage collection”. (Orlando Business Journal) The luggage system will use Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID) to track travelers’ bags.

Angel goes on to say that MCO “touts international passengers will see sunshine and have their bags even before going through Customs.” Orlando Airport will be one of the first to utilize this technology. Thanks to the new tech, you could get your luggage and be on to your next destination that much more quickly on your trip!

According to WFTV 9, the RFID system will track “luggage in real time and is faster than conventional baggage conveyor systems.” Every piece of luggage will be assigned its own yellow bin that has been tagged with an RFID tag, so airlines can tell guests exactly where their luggage is at all times, according to WKMG 6 News.
