Gas Prices Are on the Rise in Disney World

Traveling to and from Orlando, Florida hasn’t been easy lately.

Just this weekend, hundreds of Orlando flights were canceled, and now rising gas prices have peaked in Orlando, meaning your flight OR your drive to Disney World might give you some trouble. Learn more here.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that Orlando gas prices spiked this weekend, as per the AAA Auto Club records. The average price per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline cost $4.14 over the weekend, which is an 11-cent rise from the previous week.

Orlando’s prices are not out of line with the rest of Orange County’s (where most of Disney World is located) and Central Florida’s averages, and the average gas price for the state of Florida itself rose from $4.12 to $4.19 as of Monday morning.

If you’re looking for lower gas prices, the Florida panhandle has prices averaging under $4.00, and in Central Florida, Brevard County is averaging at $4.10 per gallon. The highest prices were found in Monroe County, at $4.47 per gallon.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, for the first time since February 28th, crude oil prices dropped below $100 million on Friday, and last week the U.S. national gas price averages decreased by 2-cents due to lower gas demand. But the AAA Auto Club noted that oil prices could still be affected by supply, so we’ll be watching out for more news and updates on the global oil market.
