Disney World doesn’t always make huge announcements when it makes changes.

We often catch changes in policy, prices, etc. when we visit the Disney World website. Recently, we noticed a change in ticket prices for multi-day tickets. Now, we’ve discovered a small change for those who purchase Disney Genie+.
One of the options you have as a Disney World guest is the ability to purchase Genie+ in advance. You still won’t be able to access its features until the first day of your trip, but if you know you’re going to use it, you can go ahead and pay for it ahead of your visit.

Previously, this option was available to anyone who had purchased any kind of ticket or vacation package. Here’s what the Disney World website said at the time: “Before Your Visit: Available as an add-on to a ticket or vacation package for the duration of visit.”

However, that was recently changed on the Disney World website to read: “Before Your Visit: May be added to a multi-day ticket or vacation package for the duration of the visit.”

The takeaway here is that you can no longer purchase Genie+ in advance for one-day tickets — you’ll need to wait until the day of to purchase it if that’s the kind of ticket you have.
We know that Genie and Genie+ can be confusing, so be sure to check out Disney Genie Guide before you buy and use it! We’ll also let you know if and when anything changes with the service, so stay tuned to AllEars for more.

Wish they would limit it to advance purchase only. Everyone seems to be buying them and you are basically waiting in lines all day on a busy day. Or as others. Let you pick 3 then one at a time after.
I’m reading this to mean you have to add it to ALL days of a multiday ticket, no longer able to pick just a day or two.
The one ride at a time rule means you could end up paying the all day upcharge for a single ride. All the availability is gone for the more popular attractions by the time you get the first one done. They should go back to the old fastpass rule, 3 then 1.
