The Hocus Pocus hype has been REAL over the past few years! From merch to dolls and special displays, the Halloween classic has been getting a lot of love lately.
We’ve been eagerly awaiting the return of the Sanderson Sisters in Hocus Pocus 2, which we’re expecting this year. Now, we officially have a release date for the new movie!
Now that Hocus Pocus 2 has wrapped up filming, Producer Adam Shankman (Disenchanted, Hairspray) recently teased a release date for the new movie over on his Instagram! After giving a major shout-out to the team behind the movie, he casually mentions that we can expect this movie to hit Disney+ on Halloween 2022.
UPDATE: It looks like the release date has CHANGED! Entertainment Weekly has since reported that Disney has announced that the movie will be released on September 30th.
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will be reprising their roles as the Sanderson Sisters, with Doug Jones also returning, and Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson, and Nina Kitchen joining as new members of the cast.
In the past, we’ve gotten to take a look at the set of the new movie, but we’re really excited to see everything come to life on our screens!
We can’t wait to watch Hocus Pocus 2 later this year! We’ll be lighting our black flame candles and munching on plenty of treats as we watch the sequel to this classic movie.
