PHOTOS: We Were Among the FIRST Passengers on the New Disney World 50th Anniversary Plane!

Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration begins this week, and a lot of partnering companies are taking part in the festivities! We’ve been covering some of the Happy Meal Toys you can collect at McDonalds, not to mention all of the Disney World vacations McDonalds is giving away!

Today, we visited the Southwests Airlines in Dallas, Texas, where they are ALSO celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year! To mark this golden anniversary, Southwest is giving away a trip to Disney World!

They had the “blue carpet” all rolled out for the event when we arrived!

We heard from a number of representatives from both Southwest Airlines and Disney, and we were treated to special performances in celebration of the 50th Anniversary.

And YES, there were some extra-special surprise guests! Mickey…

…and Minnie were both there!

The Boeing 737-700 that was wrapped for the 50th Anniversary was revealed to us during the presentation! Southwest Airlines posted a video showing how the design was brought to life on its Boeing 737-700:

Here’s another look at Mickey and Minnie making their special appearance at the event in their new 50th Anniversary “EARidescent” outfits!

Then, it was time to head outside to get up close to the plane and check it out in-person!

The plane is covered from nose to tail with Disney characters and icons from around Disney World! Can you spot them all?

Look closely and you’ll spot Disney World locations like City Hall!

Then we headed inside the plane — yes, the design continues inside as well!

Characters are located on the window shades as well as on the overhead luggage compartments!

The window shades is where you’ll find iconic movie and theme park characters like Madame Leota, Edna Mode, and Figment!
