Right now, Elsa is passing to the west and slightly north of Central Florida, so guests heading to parks can expect a rainy day. An Inland Tropical Storm Watch is currently in effect for Lake, Sumter and Marion counties, as a Hurricane Watch has been issued for the west-central area of Florida and Big Bend coast that stretches from Egmont Key to the Steinhatchee River.

The Weather Channel reports that winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour can be expected with gusts up to 40 miles per hour. However, some areas may even see high gusts of up to 60 miles per hour, so caution is advised. There are also northern parts of Florida that could see some flash flooding due to heavy rainfall. While Governor Ron DeSantis stated this morning that widespread evacuation wasn’t expected, Florida residents are still being urged to have preparations ready for the storm.
