Every once in a while, we’re walking through Disney World and spot something extra special going on.

And, that’s what happened last week! As we were taking our stroll through Magic Kingdom, we noticed that an entire bridge had been blocked off near Cinderella Castle for some filming. And, when we stopped by again later that day, we saw John Stamos (aka Uncle Jesse) on the set! We weren’t sure exactly what brought him to Disney World…until now!
According to ET, John Stamos is joining the contestants of American Idol to serve as a guest mentor during the Disney Night episode. We had known that the cast was headed to Disney World sometime last week, and now it’s all starting to make sense!

In the interview that ET did with one of the shows celebrity judges, Katy Perry, she revealed that John Stamos is as much of a Disney World fan as we are. She said “I think John probably said yes when he heard ‘Disney’…The thing is, John and I are probably the biggest Disney fans.” So, yes, he’s even more relatable now!

Stamos will be joined by other recognizable Disney stars on the Disney Night special. Jon Batiste (who scored Pixar’s Soul) will be performing a song, and Disney’s The Descendants star, Sofia Carson, will be performing with the contestants.

You can check out the contestant’s adventures around Disney World and see how John Stamos does as a mentor on American Idol’s Disney Night debuting on May 2nd at 8PM EST on ABC. And, as always, stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
