This has been a busy week for travel!
The crowds are flocking back to Disney World, vaccine distribution is ramping up, and hotels are reopening. Now the latest travel update: three major airlines are adding more direct flights to Orlando International Airport in the coming months!
As if the spring break crowds — and surprisingly long lines — weren’t indication enough, it’s increasingly becoming clear that more and more people are looking to travel again, and places like Disney World and Universal are at the top of the itinerary.Â
In recent months, airlines have resumed flights to Orlando, and now we’re seeing a massive increase in direct flights, as reported by the Orlando Business Journal. These updates come from Southwest, American, and Spirit Airlines!Â
Starting April 12, Southwest Airlines will add more frequent direct flights from Milwaukee to not only Orlando, but multiple Florida cities as well. These include Sarasota Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and more.
Spirit Airlines is not only adding more direct flights, but they’re moving part of their operational control center to Orlando, so they’re clearly investing in the area!Â
This spring, the airline will be adding nonstop flight options from Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Louisville!Â
If you’re in Texas, American Airlines is also giving you another option, as they announced they’ll be adding direct flights from Austin to Orlando.
We’ll be on the lookout for more ways to travel to Orlando. As always, we’ll keep you posted on any and all travel-related news!
