We already have an intense love for Universal Orlando from the masterpiece that is the Brookie to the thrill of hopping onto Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.

Universal Orlando isn’t the only Universal Park that gives fans everywhere the ultimate theme park experience. There are four parks total around the world (with a few on the way) that take you straight into the heart of your favorite franchises and movies.

We hope you’re ready to buckle up for the adventure of a lifetime because we’re giving you a look at all the attractions and lands that will be appearing in Universal Parks soon!

Universal Orlando

VelociCoaster

Jurassic Park is one of THE most iconic series that Universal has created. And the Jurassic Park-inspired part of Universal Orlando is no different! Guests are able to step into the world of the films by actually meeting raptors and barely escaping a t-rex on Jurassic Park River Adventure.

Now that there is a whole Jurassic World sequel series that is a part of the universe, the parks are finally adding a Jurassic World part to Universal Orlando with the VelociCoaster. The high-speed attraction is set to debut this summer with raptors, a track that curves all the way around Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and some of the highest peaks that overlook the entire park.

The ride has begun testing as we’ve seen the ride vehicles speed around the track and raptor animatronics arrive inside the enclosures. Universal has also even provided a trailer for what the ride-through of the attraction will be like as a sneak peek that we are HYPED to see in person.

Once the attraction opens this summer, we’ll take you with us to experience it for the very first time!

Universal Hollywood

The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash

Originally, The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash was set to debut in 2020 to guests over in Universal Hollywood. However, once the park closed in March, the attraction’s release was halted. Most likely, the new Secret Life of Pets ride will open instead in 2021 (if Universal Hollywood even re-opens this year).

The basis of the the attraction is that guests are “puppies” trying to make it to an adoption event in New York City. But antics happen along the way to set you off on a huge detour. The ride vehicles are designed to look like boxes (like the kind you might find a newly adoptable pet inside) that you board inside Katie’s apartment building from the film.

The attraction combines visual screens and 64 pet animatronics so there are pets everywhere you look. The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash will use advanced optical gesture tracking technology where guests’ movements and facial structure are monitored to transform them into puppies.

There are even 15 different types of puppy options, so you can become a new breed every time you visit the ride! Talk about a doggone good time! 😉

Universal Studios Japan

Super Nintendo World

The newest Universal Orlando land’s grand opening is actually just around the corner. Super Nintendo World is about to become the envy of all other theme parks when it debuts, taking guests inside the beloved Mario video games. The park will feature attractions like the interactive Mario Kart: Koopa Challenge…

…Yoshi’s Adventure that will recruit riders to use the Captain’s map to find three mysterious eggs and discover where Captain Toad has been hiding…

…and Power-Up Bands that allow guests to directly interact with the park in order to participate in key challenges, collect virtual coins and items, and participate in other experiences (like helping Peach find the golden mushroom taken by Bowser, Jr.).

Originally the park was supposed to open on February 4, 2021, but it has since been delayed without an updated date. When Super Mario World opens its gates to Bowser’s Castle and the rest of the land, you can bet your power-up mushrooms that we will let you know!

Universal Beijing

Speaking of giant Universal debuts, Universal Beijing will be opening an ENTIRE PARK with seven themed lands this year! Although the debut is still on track for May 2021, this could always change now that Universal Studios Japan has begun to delay its own upcoming attractions.

Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness

The Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness will have the crown jewel of the Peach Tree of Heavenly Wisdom, which will change seasons continually through winter, spring, summer, and fall. Universal will pull off this effect with 58,000 handmade blossoms that are paired with 360-degree projection mapping and other artistic technology!

The land will also feature a unique flume ride called Kung Fu Panda Journey of the Dragon Warrior that shows Po going up against Tian Sha.

Hollywood

Guests will be able to experience the magic of movies in the Hollywood section of the park! There will be a huge stunt show that features directors Stephen Spielberg and Zhang Yimou in the behind-the-scenes of movie-making experience named “Lights, Camera, Action!”

Waterworld

Along with Hollywood, Waterworld will have a similar vibe where the Waterworld Stunt Show will show off how water motor boats, high-dives, gunfire, explosions, and plane crashes are used in movies and shows.

Transformers Metrobase

Upon entering the Transformers Metrobase, visitors will become “guest agents” as they help fight against the Autobots. The land will have popular attractions, including Bumblebee Boogie, Transformers: Battle for the AllSpark, and the Decepticoaster (similar to the Incredible Hulk Coaster).

Minion Land

We have seen bits and pieces of the Despicable Me franchise in Universal Orlando and Universal Hollywood, but Minion Land will set you inside the film with rides like Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and areas like Super Silly Fun Land.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Universal Beijing will also be getting its own Hogsmeade as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter comes to life! Guests can sip on Butterbeer, ride the Forbidden Journey, and pick up their own Hogwarts robes as they explore the park.

Jurassic World: Isla Nublar

Jurassic World is really getting the star treatment since Universal Beijing will also be paying tribute to the series! Jurassic World: Isla Nublar will be divided into four zones, including the Aviary and Camp Jurassic for kids. But the highlight of the area will be Jurassic World Adventure, where guests will board the All-Terrain Luxury Automatic System (ATLAS) as they ride through the expanse of the island.

There will be multiple dinosaurs that pop up along the way, including the vicious Indominus Rex that uses brand new technology to make the creatures even MORE scary and life-like!
