Happy New Year’s Eve!

We’re celebrating today by hitting the Disney World parks! We’re checking out crowds, wait times, and looking for special 2021 treats and merchandise, so follow along with our adventures. We’ve got 25 photos and videos from our day to share, so let’s go!
Magic Kingdom
Molly spent the day over at Magic Kingdom, where we expected things to be pretty busy on New Year’s Eve. But, walking in this morning, there were hardly any people at the entrance!

We even managed to take a photo of the castle with way less people in it than usual! What a beautiful view, and a great way to start off our morning.

Just take a moment and listen to the sounds of the castle hub…

…and now the sound of the Dapper Dans! They greeted us on Main Street USA from the trolley. They’re still dressed in their holiday attire, which gives us a little extra Christmas cheer, even though Christmas was last week.

Our first land of the day was Adventureland, and surprisingly, the crowds were pretty tame over here. It was relatively easy to walk around and social distance.

Pirates of the Caribbean only had a 35-minute wait. For a major holiday, that was a fairly low wait time. Plus, the queue was well-managed and out of the walkway.

In another shocker, Splash Mountain was only a 45-minute wait!

Big Thunder’s line was well-contained and it wasn’t challenging at all to stay away from others in Frontierland.

Typically this area in Fantasyland is a huge bottleneck, but Molly was able to do a full 360 and with plenty of room to spare…and on New Year’s Eve!

Here’s a look at this spot between Peter Pan’s Flight and “it’s a small world”.

The big wait time in Magic Kingdom today was Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which was hanging out at an 85-minute wait at the time.

Before she left, Molly had to say goodbye to Magic Kingdom…see ya next year!

And while we’re at it, let’s take in those Christmas decorations. We’ll definitely miss them once they’re gone!

EPCOT
EPCOT’s World Showcase was a little more hoppin’ today!

Spaceship Earth was using a lot of queue space, but things seemed to be managed well over here.

Back in the World Showcase, the American Adventure pavilion was very popular. Lots of guests on this main walkway today!

And we spotted something else noteworthy — the Christmas tree is gone! This was the last Christmas tree to go up in the parks, and now it has already been taken down before the Festival of the Holidays even ends.

Looks like the holiday season has come to a close at this park. Good thing we have the Festival of the Arts to look forward to!
Hollywood Studios
Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, things were pretty busy as well.

Here’s what the line looked like to ride Star Tours today.

Sunset Boulevard was definitely looking busy midday.

However, just to show you how quickly crowd levels can change, here’s a look at the outside of Galaxy’s Edge.

There were crowds other places in Galaxy’s Edge though. This group was the queue space for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run.

The line to fly the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” was incredibly long. It curved and stretched through most of the land, even going backstage.

There were pretty high wait times in Toy Story Land too, like this 45-minute wait for Alien Swirling Saucers.

It looks like many guests chose Hollywood Studios for their New Year’s Eve Day.

That’s all we have from our New Year’s Eve trips to the parks! We’re keeping up with all the Disney news going into 2021, so stay tuned to AllEars!
