Christmas and New Year’s Eve are both just a few days away! As one Florida official noted back around Thanksgiving that people are still traveling to Florida and will continue to do so, we’ve been keeping an eye on park capacity over at Universal Studios and Park Pass reservation availability in Disney World as the holidays draw nearer.
On December 19th, 20th, and 21st, Universal Orlando’s theme parks hit capacity, and today, they’ve already reached capacity again.
Earlier today, Universal Orlando Resort posted a Tweet, noting that today (December 22nd) both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure reached capacity as of 10:15 AM.
Universal Orlando said that they anticipate reopening later this afternoon. For more updates, you can call Universal’s capacity hotline at 407-817-8317.

So, that marks ANOTHER day where Universal Orlando has hit capacity fairly early in the day. Yesterday, the parks hit capacity at 10:55 AM, so today is actually one of the earlier times we’ve seen the parks fill up recently.
As the holidays get closer, we’ll continue to monitor capacity and other theme park news to bring you the latest updates.
