Original shows like The Mandalorian have captivated huge audiences, and classic Disney movies have earned a new generation of fans, all thanks to the streaming platform. There’s so much more to come, and today we’re sharing a casting update on one of the upcoming series!
Disney has really been focusing on adding to the Disney+ library, with tons of new shows and movies slated to arrive in the coming months. One of the upcoming shows is Hawkeye, based on the Avenger played by Jeremy Renner.
The show began filming in New York this week, and while details are scarce, Collider shared pictures that reveal the possible debut of a fan-favorite character (**potential spoilers ahead!**).
Collider shared on-set images of Pitch Perfect star Hailee Steinfeld filming with Jeremy Renner. Based on her costume and information gathered about the show so far, the publication hypothesizes that it’s likely that Steinfeld will be playing the role of Kate Bishop, a wealthy New York woman who turns to fighting crime after a life-changing attack in Central Park.
There hasn’t been an official casting confirmation on this role, but Hailee Steinfeld was a fan-favorite to portray Kate Bishop even before she was seen on set. You may recognize her from her roles in the Pitch Perfect sequels as well as the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee. She also voiced Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
