Disney has made a surprise announcement that Black is King, a new visual album from Beyoncé, will premiere on Disney+ on July 31, 2020!
The visual album is inspired by The Lion King — in which Beyoncé provided the voice of Nala — and it’s set to premiere on the one-year anniversary of the film’s theatrical release.
The album features a number of other artists, including Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Wizkid, Shatta Wale, and more! It’s described as a retelling of The Lion King for “today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.” Check it out when it’s released on Disney+ on July 31st!
