With Disney Vacation Club Resorts, as well as global Disney Parks, beginning to reopen, many are looking forward to their future vacation planning.
Now, Disney has released new information on what will, and will not, be included in their vacation packages starting for arrivals in 2021!
Disney has announced that, “For arrivals beginning in 2021, Walt Disney Travel Company will no longer offer air transportation as part of its packages for Guests traveling to Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.” This includes direct-consumer flights and third party bookings.
Disney will still make airline bookings through the end of 2020, with the team continuing to service the existing bookings.

So is this a legality issue now due to the Covid situation? Most likely means they will stop the Magical Express too? If its just because Disney doesn’t want to provide this service anymore, they are making it less convenient and even less Magical to go to Disney. All the must do advanced Dinning and Having to get fast passes months in advance has taken the spontaneity out of trips there. We used to love changing our minds and going to a different park for the day and getting fast passes that day for what we wanted to ride, then standing in the fun cues and enjoying them while waiting to use our fast passes later. We used to make only a couple must do sit down reservations for dinning, the rest we could just wing it. It was about relaxation before, now its about rushing to pre-planned appointments for the whole trip, sounds just like everyday life now instead of the escape it used to be.
Magic Express is still happening, they want you in their bubble and if they stop ME, you might rent a Car making it more feasible to stay off or eat off property – also avoiding their exorbitant parking fee at resorts if you stay elsewhere. My guess is they had too much of a legal hassle with people cancelling flights booked through them, wanting Air refunds not vouchers. I book my own flights, but the insurance The airline offers refused to cover covid flight cancellations so now I am stuck with a voucher I might not get to use If I am unable or unwilling to fly by December 2021. If you thought they nickel and dimed us before, expect to be dollared and hundred dollared going forward.
Thank you for your input. We have been going since before Disney had the magical express and we used to to use Mears transportation(the same company doing the Magical Express for Disney) from the airport and back, they were great to work with on our own. We just got used to and liked everything being taken care of when booking through Disney especially the flights. We have driven down a couple times, but that was before they were charging for Resort parking, so i agree we have already been Dollared and Hundred Dollared already (love your terming of it,but dont love that they are doing it) The Rich will have a nice to place to go i guess, while we talk about past memories on Forums like this.
