On my past two vacations, I have used the Disney dining plan and on my upcoming vacation I also have the Disney dining plan. The first time I used the quick service plan when it was just my mom and me since we split a lot of the burgers and such. The last time was the standard plan when it was my sister, her two year old and me so we had plenty to feed all three of us. My upcoming trip is again the standard plan even though it will be just me. I have planned where I want to go and what I would like to eat at each place. I have planned on to-go boxes to fill in for other meals that I can reheat at my resort and for late night snacks. I have figured I am really close to breaking even on the costs and I know my meals and snacks are already paid for.
