Universal Orlando is currently closed through at least May 31st, but it would appear that they are surveying guests to guide a path towards their future re-opening.

While it has been reported that CityWalk could be opening some of its restaurants and stores later this month, so far, no word has been given on a re-opening date for the theme parks. However, a recent survey given out to guests may give us a few ideas of how Universal Orlando could look after the closures end.
According to Bay News 9, Universal Studios Orlando sent a survey to Annual Passholders about different scenarios regarding when the parks would be re-opening.

The survey asked for guests opinions on temperature checks before entering the parks, and “contact tracing” through GPS cell phone data to keep an eye on potential exposures. Universal also wanted to know if guests would be comfortable with mask requirements, seat distancing, and the sanitization of ride vehicles between each cycle.

One of the most interesting parts of this survey was about the possibility of one park opening at a time. Universal asked how likely guests were to come to the parks if Islands of Adventure opened before Universal Orlando. The park capacity would be “slightly limited” to 75% where all rides would be open. If this route was taken, the cost of admission would be about half of the usual price, at least in this hypothetical scenario.

However, the other option would be for Universal Studios to open instead of Islands of Adventure. The capacity would be “heavily limited” to only 25% with only the most popular attractions available to ride. The cost of admission would double and annual passes would not be honored, but there would be special VIP experiences listed.

Universal Studios Orlando proposed a few dates to see when the guests would choose to visit. Some of these include July 1st, August 1st, and December 1st, with July being the earliest and December being the latest recommended reopenings.

While Universal Orlando has not yet announced a re-opening date, we will continue to bring you updates as we learn more about the theme parks’ potential re-openings.

I am a annual pass holder and did not receive the survey.
I am hopeful that both parks will open at Universal Studio’s- I am also hopeful that each park will open by July 1st if not sooner. I am monitoring the internet each day for any new information.
I will say this much. If option 2 is the one they choose I better not see 1 new payment hit until pass holders can access the park again. This sounds like something stupid Disney would di
