Earlier this week, it was reported that Disney+ had crossed the major milestone of 50 million paid subscribers signing up since its initial launch five months ago.

And for those 50 million+, Disney+ has a lot still to come, from Star Wars and Marvel series, to new original films. And now, we have another title to look forward to — a remake of one of Disney’s most beloved classics.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, a remake of Robin Hood is in the works! Carlos Lopez Estrada, best known for the film Blindspotting, has been tapped to direct the feature, which is planned to be a musical CGI/live-action hybrid.

Writer Kari Granlund is also attached, continuing her work with Disney after writing the Lady and the Tramp remake that premiered with the launch of the streaming platform in November 2019.

The film is currently in early development, and the deal was inked prior to much of Hollywood going on lockdown due to the global health crisis.
