New Disney+ Film “Godmothered” Will Put a Modern Twist on a Cinderella Story!

A dream is a wish your heart makes — and, in theory it’s the job of Fairy Godmothers to grant them! Of course, that was before make-up tutorials, Amazon Prime, Uber…

Now, in a world where the magic of Fairy Godmothers is threatening to die out, one determined Godmother-in-Training must Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo her way into the heart of her charge, give her a Happily Ever After, and SAVE CHRISTMAS! No, it’s not Noelle 2! It’s Godmothered, the latest film coming to Disney+!

Jillian Bell (Brittany Runs A Marathon, Rough Night) plays Eleanor, a godmother-in-training shocked to find out her chosen profession is facing extinction. Determined to show the world and the rest of the Motherland (yes, she’s from a place named the Motherland) that Godmothers are still needed, she finds a misplaced letter from a 12-year-old girl in distress named Mackenzie, and rushes to her aid… about thirty years too late. What a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Boo…

Hey, maybe reopen this place to adults as a movie promo, eh?

By the time Eleanor reaches her, Mackenzie (Isla Fisher) is a 40-year-old news anchor from Boston, recently divorced, and has given up on the idea of a Happily Ever After. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) for her, Eleanor is determined to give her a happiness makeover… whether she wants it or not.

The new film is written by Kari Granlund (Lady and the Tramp) and Melissa K. Stack (The Other Woman) and is directed by Sharon Maguire (Bridget Jones’s Diary) . Production has just started, and the film is expected to be out in time for the holiday season.
