The closure comes in response to the current nationwide coronavirus outbreak in China.

Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown, Walt Disney Grand Theatre and Wishing Star Park will all close tomorrow until the outbreak of the virus is contained. The company has made this call as the Chinese government advises that individuals stay out of crowded places. Those with affected plans will receive a refund.

This closure comes on the day of the Lunar New Year, so it is a large interruption to the planned celebrations in Shanghai Disneyland which usually bring large crowds. This year was set to be an especially exciting festival in Disneyland since it is the “Year of the Mouse” (Year of the Rat).
