Did Somebody Say McDonalds? Construction Continues on the Golden Arches!

For the past few months, the Disney World McDonald’s has been closed for a total renovation, which means my early morning runs to Hollywood Studios have been tragically without McMuffins.

I remember when there used to be a McDonald’s every few FEET in Disney World! You kids with your “healthy food” and “original themed dining experiences”… When I was a kid, we got French Fries in Adventureland and LOVED IT!

Well, the initial framework for the new building is up, and it looks seriously funky. Take a look:

Buh buh buh buh buh… I’m… lovin’ it?

The new structure seems like it’s going for a bold, angled awning design. I’m getting a sort of postmodern vibe from the silhouette, but I’m not sure if that big ceiling is for a dining area, a patio, a playplace…

We can definitely see an internal structure further inside, which is probably for the kitchen.

We’ll have to see how this place materializes over the coming months.

Are you lovin’ this new design? Let us know in the comments!

  1. My guess for the roof is that it will be covered in solar panels, hopefully enough to power the restaurant during operating hours.

  2. I hate to be a contrarian, but I don’t recall “McDonald’s every few FEET” ever in Disneyworld. Restaurantsaurus in AK, Fry stand in MK, Restaurant in Downtown was about it, excluding the free standing store in this article. Far from every few FEET.
I am, however, happy to see this location get some fresh air put back into it. In it’s early days, it was an attraction in itself for our kids. One of the first huge screen t.v. walls around, plus a super cool drink station with sounds and animated mechanical “pouring”.

  3. McDonald’s has done more to provide affordable food to poor people than any government program. Love McDonalds!
