A monorail ride from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort today revealed significant progress had been made on the potential walkway Disney is making to join the hotel to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.

From high above, we could see progress being made on the bridge that we suspect will link Disney’s Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom.

Although the project still appears to be a long way from its completion, the elements seem to be fitting together nicely.

We noticed on the Magic Kingdom side of the Seven Seas Lagoon, a new pathway had been dug out and street lights were also installed.

Since the Grand Floridian has a pathway to Disney’s Polynesian Resort, this potential walkway to the Magic Kingdom could service guests staying at either resort.

We’ll update you more as the work continues, but for now, we’re excited about the possibility of having another way of exiting the park someday!

The lighting and pathway from the Magic Kingdom to the canal isn’t new. It existing path dead-ended at the canal. They are replacing the “Walk Around the World” bricks with a fresh concrete path. The bridge itself and a walkway from the canal to the Grand Floridian is what will be new.
