Walt Disney World’s transportation system is a complex one, with everything from buses, boats, and Monorails to the new Skyliner gondola lines. But getting to Walt Disney World from its nearest major airport, Orlando International (MCO), is also a hurdle for guests arriving without a car. Should you Magical Express it? Hire a rideshare or Minnie Van? Call a taxi? Book a shuttle?

Phew, let’s get back on track — perhaps literally — because Disney officials have confirmed that there is interest in building a train station on or very near Walt Disney World property. The station, which is being “formally discuss[ed]”, would serve as a stop along the Brightline/Virgin Trains USA line that would connect MCO with Tampa.

The passenger line has been proposed by Virgin Trains USA (formerly known as Brightline), but though talks are entering a “rather advanced state”, the line and its possible Disney World station are likely still way in the future.
Even still, it’s fun to dream about traveling directly to Walt Disney World by train!

Our favorite mode is train – Amtrak from Wisconsin to Orlando – always wondered why no link was provided for rail travelers, only air. We would reserve a Mears Towncar – great service and drivers, from Amtrak Orlando to our resort. Would be great to have a Disney World station.
we used to use Mears Shuttle service, in 2000 it was a van and was a nice way to start our Honeymoon with a friendly driver. In 2003 we got picked up by Mears in a free Towncar upgrade cause they were short Vans, so for the next 2 trips we set up to get the Towncar for a few dollars more and it was great. Then Disney started the Magical Express which is done by Mears so we used that every trip after that except when we drove our own car down to Florida in 2010. we have had good luck with every experience and love that we didn’t have to pay more for the Magical Express (I know they get more money from us by the price increases they continually keep doing) and it gave us a chance to see different resorts we haven’t stayed at before we would get dropped off at the resort we were staying at. Haven’t been there since 2014 , so not sure if its still as nice to use.
