Construction Update: Epcot’s Takumi-Tei Restaurant in Japan Pavilion Nearing Completion

A few months ago, Disney World revealed that it would be opening a new restaurant in Epcot’s Japan pavilion later this summer.

After a quick stroll around Epcot yesterday, it seems the new restaurant could be opening very soon!

To be known as Takumi-Tei (which translates to “house of the artisan”), the new restaurant is going to be a signature dining experience. There will be a dress code and a slightly more upscale feel than most in-park eateries. There will be five dining rooms, each representing one of the elements, and Japanese-inspired dishes, a multi-course tasting menu, traditional Japanese tea service, signature cocktails, premium sake, wine, and craft beer.

During yesterday’s jaunt around the park, we found that a lot of the construction wall around the area has been removed, although there are still  plants screening the actual entrance.

Things are looking seriously close to being ready to open, in our opinion. In fact, they even have an exterior menu post installed. Of course, it just says “Coming Soon,” but still… it looks ready to go!

No specific opening date has yet been announced for this new restaurant, but we’re hoping that we hear some news soon! Check back often to see if we have any updates on when Takumi-Tei will open its doors.
