Contributing photographer Jason of disneygeek.com sends us these photos from his trip to the parks on Friday, March 7, 2014.
The Starbucks in Downtown Disney opened on Monday. Today the walls are down and they are finishing up the patio seating area.
First stop Disneyland. Cinderella was out greeting guests in her cool weather dress. It was only in the 70s today…
The Disneyland Railroad was closed today for some work.
Work on the Space Mountain addition continues..
Marvel’s takeover of Innoventions continues. Captain America now has a meet and greet inside. Outside new banners.
Captain America has taken over the former nanoscience area. The wait was over an hour, which was much more than my patience to get a picture of Captain America and he is not visible from the queue/outside.
Iron Man had some guests but it was not crowded.
Thor had a wait just under half an hour according to a CM.
The walls around the sub lagoon received some artwork since my last visit.
Behind the walls looks like scaffolding is up and preparations are underway to paint the fleet.
No visible progress out in the lagoon.
Alice in Wonderland closes Monday to finally fix the exterior portion of the track and remove the temporary walkway/rail structures.
You never know who you will pass as you walk the parks… Captain Hook strolling through Fantasyland.
The walls are down around Big Thunder.
So nice to walk the Big Thunder trail without the walls up.
Trains were cycling as they prepared to open for Cast Member previews.
There were signs and lines of cast members and their friends/families waiting to experience the attraction.
Decided to venture out to the island since I had not been there for quite a while.
Fort Wilderness.. still very sad to walk around this area and the abandon fort. Interesting to note that every time I seem to run into some guest talking about past experiences and what a shame it is that it is off limits/closed now.
The trails leading up to the treehouse are blocked off.
New Orleans Square from the island stage.
Splash Mountain has reopened from its annual downtime.
Class of 2014 merchandise
Now over to Disney California Adventure – The Bakery building is under wraps for some renovation work. It remains open as does the tour during the work.
I grabbed a table at Flo’s and ate dinner. The view from my table.
The setting sun lit up this rock work nicely.
Stopped by Muppet Vision 3D. Some posters in the queue for the upcoming film.
Several most posters as you head inside.
Constantine interrupts the preshow now, there are a couple blimps then a brief speech by him.
Time for Fantasmic! and a side view of the new fountains.
They use them as light effects in a few spots too.
Tick-Tock was back this week.
A video clip of the fountains during the Princess Medley.
Closed out my time in the parks with Remember Dreams Come True Fireworks from Main Street.
Starbucks all lit up as I was leaving.
Noticed this new walkway/path set up on the third floor of the Mickey and Friends garage near the handicap parking spots.
