I had great fun at Deb Wills’ and All Ears December to Remember Events – 4 full days packed with activities and meeting up with old and new friends to celebrate 15 years online with All Ears. I led Hidden Mickey tours of the Kidani Village Resort. Our central gathering area was a spacious Kidani Village Villa, which was filled with smiling people and tasty snacks. The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights comes to life this time of year. It’s fun to look high and low for Hidden (and decor) Mickeys in the Osborne Lights.

Each year, I like to spot the Hidden Mickeys on the helmet of the nutcracker figure who strolls around Epcot’s Germany Pavilion.

I was privileged to hear Don “Ducky” Williams speak of his long career as an illustrator and character artist with the Disney Company. Of course, he’s forever attached to our favorite Duck, but he can draw just about anything!

He admitted that a few of his most difficult subjects were Spaceship Earth (because of the large number of panels with varying shades), Pocahontas (because her face is angular yet feminine and one imperfect line could ruin the effect), and the Disney Cruise Ships (because of the intricate architectural detail). In fact, he said that he often covers part of the cruise ship to make his task less challenging. In this painting, Ariel’s hair hides the rear of the ship.
