Please send additions and changes to grumpysince1953@gmail.com. *** Tables In Wonderland *** Disney Rewards Visa® Card *** Other Discounts *** ********** A comparison of dining discounts available to Annual Passholders (AP), Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members, and Tables In Wonderland (TIW) is available as a PDF file for printing. A comparison of non-dining discounts available to Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, and elsewhere is also available as a PDF file for printing. Some discounts are usually available at Walt Disney World (WDW) if you are a WDW Annual Passholder, a member of the Disney Vacation Club, or are a Florida resident. Following is a list of known discounts and benefits. This list is intended for planning and as a general guide to discounts, and to help in determining the best discounts when several are offered. There may be other discounts and benefits available, so it is always best to ask. Most discounts are generally fixed within any particular calendar year. Some discounts are offered for shorter periods. Discounts using the Disney Rewards Visa® vary. There may be other occasional benefits in any program, so please consult your plan information or ask. Admission discounts for Florida Residents and Tables In Wonderland (a membership program) probably provide the best discounts all around on admissions and dining. Note that some of these programs have seasonal blackout dates or other restrictions. Information can be found at AllEarsNet. Other discount programs, such as on merchandise or WDW activities, are not generally available to Florida residents solely on the basis of residency, but are available through membership in the other programs described here. The Tables In Wonderland is a discount membership program that is available only to Florida residents and Annual Passholders. The Disney Dining Plan is an option available only to guests staying on a WDW Magic Your Way package, Annual Passholders staying at a Disney resort, or to DVC members staying at a DVC resort. It is not a discount but can provide significant cost savings depending on dining preferences. Additional information is available directly from Disney, including a list of participating dining locations. Discounts on lodging are not generally included here because they change frequently. Please inquire about such discounts when making reservations. There are usuallly some lodging discounts available to AP holders, and DVC members receive special rates on cash nights at DVC facilities, when available. There may also be discounted hotel rates offered to Florida residents or the general public. In every case, discounts are likely to be offered only at times of the year when demand is reduced. A lodging discount is often available for allears.net readers, Annual Passholders, AAA members, government employees, nurses, and teachers at the Swan and Dolphin Resorts. You should ask when making reservations. Discounts at other hotels and resorts are sometimes highlighted at AllEarsNet, including the Sheraton Vistana Villages, All Star Vacation Homes, DoubleTree Guest Suites, Sheraton Vistana Resort, and Gaylord Palms Resort. Several popular discount programs no longer exist, including the American Express White Glove, the Disney Club, and the original Magic Kingdom Club. Other special discounts have sometimes been made available to selected groups, such as firefighters and police officers following the 9/11 tragedy. Active military were given special discounts in 2003. Currently, there are no known special discounts for firefighters or police officers. Discounts on some tickets have been reported for active military, but you should check with the recreational unit at your post or base, or contact Disney Guest Services directly for current information. Some other discounts are available to active and retired military staying at the Shades of Green Resort. Small discounts or incentives may be available to those making vacation arrangements through AAA or other travel package providers. Holders of the Disney Rewards Visa® card may also receive some discounts, including most tours. Discounts are announced on advertisements that are included with monthly statements, and also on the credit card web site (see your statement for web address). They are not generally advertised, and will likely be for limited duration. Several readers have reported that they received an AAA discount on tours. It never hurts to ask if other discounts are available. Under Disney's Magic Your Way ticket pricing system, significant savings can be realized by buying the package that is best suited to your plans. More information can be found at AllEarsNet.
