Photographing Disney Food

I enjoy a good meal after spending a day walking around a Walt Disney World park. Thankfully, you have a choice of all kinds of table and counter service restaurants in the parks, resorts and Downtown Disney. I like to photograph the food for future restaurant reviews at the PSCalculator.net website. However, judging by all … Continue reading "Photographing Disney Food"

A Summer Day at Disneyland

Posted on
On Monday Lee and I went to Disneyland to spend the day with his brother’s family, who are vacationing there this week. I think it’s the first time he’s ever been to Disneyland with kids, and the first time for me since 2001! It was a somewhat different experience, but we still had a great … Continue reading "A Summer Day at Disneyland"

I visited the Magic Kingdom monorail resorts one afternoon to look for Hidden Mickeys. Disney characters hide in the marble floor around the Grand Floridian lobby. (Baseer Muqri informed me that Mickey and Minnie are also in the marble floor at the entrance to 1900 Park Fare restaurant). Here’s Mickey near the lobby entrance doors. … Continue reading "Magic Kingdom Resort Hidden Mickeys"

Port Orleans French Quarter – Part Two

Thanks for checking back for Part Two of my French Quarter blog. Leading from The Courtyard to Doubloon Lagoon (the swimming pool area), is a rather unique walkway. Here’s a shot of a much-younger me on … Continue reading "Port Orleans French Quarter – Part Two"

Disney Pic of the Week – Bars and Lounges

Given that I often travel solo to Walt Disney World and my tolerance for counter service meals is pretty low, I often find myself bellying up to the bars of some of the sit down restaurants for my meals. You can make a very nice meal from a couple of appetizers and many of the … Continue reading "Disney Pic of the Week – Bars and Lounges"

Fast lenses for digital SLR cameras have a maximum aperture of f/2.8 or bigger. Except for the Nifty-Fifty which are 50mm prime lenses at f/1.8, fast lenses are expensive. Most of the lenses in this class are considered some of the best ever made. Over the last three years, I have purchased two f/2.8 lenses … Continue reading "Walt Disney World at f/2.8"

Archery Experience Review

Normally when I use the word “shoot” in my blogs I’m speaking about photography but this time I’m talking about archery. Stand back kids because I’ve got a bow and a handful of arrows and I know how to use them (again). Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground offers archery lessons every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday … Continue reading "Archery Experience Review"
