Fabulous dining experience. Our server , Jason was superb..very attentive.
We started our meal with an amazing Bloody Mary..I have never had one like this. It had a HUGE shrimp, a split Crab Leg, a slice of bacon, olives stuffed with blue cheese on a tiny sword, and a celery stick. DH had Steak perfectly cooked and I had Lobster Eggs Benedict and they did not skimp on the lobster. DH had onion soup as an appetizer and Jason kept him updated on how the bubbling of the cheese was progressing..my appetizer was the Seafood assortment, which I highly suggest. The Octopus was delicious as was the Salmon.
I hope this dining experience stays around , it is SO worth going.

Stayed in a theme park room from Aug 25-Sept 3. Loved the view and the nightly fireworks were wonderful to watch. Having the monorail available to take to another resort was especially handy as it rained, a lot. The bus transportation was usually on time with the board. The rooms are large and comfortable, a little more modern that my normal tastes, but tastefully done. Did not like the sinks in the bathroom however. They are too large and flat and when you are brushing your teeth or washing your hands, the water tends to spread out. Took the maid staff a couple of days, and notes with tips, to start leaving more shampoo and tea bags. This is the first year that my birthday (which we always travel over) was not acknowledged at check-in. No towel animals or Mickey heads either. But would return again for the location, monorail and view! Did not even see the pool as it rained on pool day.

Pros:

Theme Park View

We stayed here August 12-16, 2015. We had a wonderful stay! We had a premium site located on the loop behind the Meadow Trading Post bus stop...so all we had to do to get to the Meadow Trading Post was walk across the street. Our site was very convenient to the store, bus stop, swimming pool, and campfire. We loved the campfire and the swimming pool. We also loved walking around Tri-Circle D Ranch. The horses were beautiful to watch and we got to watch the ironsmith fit one with a new shoe! The boat ride to MK was the best! We also loved watching the MK fireworks from the beach. They pipe the music in! Our family was kind enough to let us use their golf cart. A golf cart is a must if you stay here! Everything is really spread out, as a campground should be! I can't emphasized enough how clean everything was! The comfort station was spotless! The paths were well maintained and clean! The two negatives are there is no quick service restaurant and the buses seemed slow leaving Ft. Wilderness and coming back from the parks and Downtown Disney. We stayed with our extended family in their camper. I am more of a "resort" kinda gal, but after our stay I would love to own a camper and claim a spot at Fort Wilderness!

Pros:

Cleanliness, activities, boat ride to MK

Ate here for dinner on Sept 2. The check in person was not nice and I hoped it would not be an indication of things to come, it wasn't. The waiting room is always really crowded and loud, it is hard to understand the host when he/she calls your name. We were seated in a reasonable amount of time considering the amount of people in the waiting area. Our "cousin" was nice but did not play the role at all, basically it was just like any other waiter at any other restaurant. My sister and I both had the fried chicken and while I was glad they replaced the greens, too bad it was with mushy corn on the cob. It was not good. The fried chicken is one of my favorite fried chickens and it did not disappoint this time either. For desert sister had Dad's Brownie Sundae - which we both agree was better when it came on a plate. I had the chocolate peanut butter cake, it was very rich and very sweet. Ended up taking most of it back the to resort to sit in the fridge. Was sorry that they had changed some of their desserts, miss the Boston Cream Pie!

Ate here on August 28 and it was excellent as usual. I had the seafood curry, sister had the honey chicken and mom had the duck, which is not on the menu but you can still ask for it. We all enjoyed it very much. Fried wontons for dessert cannot be beat! They are fabulous. Will definitely be back!

This was our first meal in Disney and was our favorite meal in Disney. Since it was Mom and Sister's first visit, we shared the cheese soup and it was just as good as I remembered. The pretzel bread was enjoyed by everyone at the table. We all ordered the filet and all were cooked perfectly and melt in your mouth good. One of the best steaks I have had, even compared to our local famous steakhouse. We also ordered a poutine, not my favorite but it could have been the one we picked. for dessert, I had something plum and did not really care for it. Tried sister's cheesecake and the crème brule and while both liked theirs, I did not. Overall, we loved this meal and would come back here again. It is worth two dining points.

I have eaten here in the past and have enjoyed it and when we ate here on Sept 1, it was still enjoyable. We sat at the very back of the restaurant so it was hard to enjoy the ambiance as I was looking at a wall. The waitress was pleasant but a little pushy with trying to clear your plates even when you weren't finished. Drinks were refilled quickly and without asking. I had the chicken parm, I have read about not having enough sauce, so I asked for extra when I ordered, not a problem. It was standard chicken parm, nothing fabulous but certainly well worth eating. Sister had the Cannelloni, which was tasty, I would order it next time. Mom had the Shrimp Scampi which had a nice flavor to it and the shrimp were cooked well. For dessert I had the seasonal cheesecake - Amareto cheesecake which was very good. Mom and Sister had the crème brulee which they both enjoyed. If you are looking for the wow factor this is not the place to eat, but good, decent food then yes by all means.

Pros:

good food

Cons:

they like to turn over tables quickly

My sister and I ate here on August 31 and we very much enjoyed the meal after having to reject the first table we were offered. They tried to seat us at the very first table in the restaurant, not sure why there is even a table there as it is in the middle of traffic and would have been horrific. Our next table was in the very back of the restaurant in what looked like an addition. We could not see the Magic Kingdom but could see Epcot and Hollywood Studios, unfortunately by the time we were seated the fireworks for both were over. Ordered cocktails off the menu, both were very good, but the names escape me now. The waiter was very personable and we liked him, even though he thought we were a couple and tried to give us ambiance with the candles. We started off with the Dragon Roll, which was yummy! I ordered the pork two ways, which I thought was very well done and enjoyed it very much. Sister had a filet which she also enjoyed. For dessert, I ordered the breadpudding, which was not bread pudding and was not even the cobbler that the waiter tried to say it was. Not good! So I helped Sister eat her fritters which were warm and doughy pillows of goodness. The only disappointment of the night was that we were in the middle of eating when the fireworks show started which we went to watch and our food was left out on the table. We saw others that had been covered.

food, view

We stayed at the AKV from 8/18-8/27. This was our second stay here, but first time with a savanna view. While we probably wouldn't spend that amounts of points on every trip here, it was *completely* worth it! We were a bit of a walk from the elevator, but had a great view every evening of the Frozen fireworks, so that made the walk worth it! Bus service was fine, some days better than others. (no different than at any other resort we've stayed at) The Maji pool remains one of our favorites: never a problem finding an umbrella table every afternoon, and excellent bar staff. My kids are too old for the pool activities now, but my 14yr old son was encouraged to participate in some of the games, so he did, and had a great time. We met a fascinating cast member at the savanna by the pool, who was from Uganda. He was wonderful to chat with and gave us some information to take home on his conservation efforts at home so we could look it up online. This was a wonderful, memorable stay. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful stay!

We stayed here for one night on 8/17. We are DVC members, and a family of 6, so had to book 2 studios to accommodate all of us. We had never stayed here before, and were pretty excited about trying something new.

We were in Tokelau, bottom floor, standard view. We were facing the construction of the new pool. It wasn't loud, but again, we were only there for one night before switching over the AKV for the rest of our stay. Noise was not a problem. Fortunately we were granted our request of connecting rooms. They were beautiful, really. Loved the decor and the split bathrooms.

I can only say that while I enjoyed it here, it is definitely not on my favorite resort list. I miss the option of a 2br villa, allowing my family to stay in one room. We tend to stay 9 nights in the summer, and for a trip that long I want my full kitchen and especially my washer and dryer. I also was disappointed in the pool area. It was very, very crowded. Finding a table/chairs for six of us was not easy. Resort refillable mugs are a pain here: there is no refill station at the pool, and the bartenders won't refill them either. You have to go to Captain Cook's. Well, my son was all wet, and Capt. Cook's is a decent little walk from the pool. This didn't really seem fair. My DH went and got my son a soda, but really, for the price of those mugs, it shouldn't be so hard to fill them here.

The transportation options here are great, but I'm not sure how soon we'll be back.
