Review of Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs (Disney Vacation Club)

We finally have stayed here! These are a dream come true for anybody who dreamed of living in a treehouse after watching Swiss Family Robinson. This was a more laid back trip and we got the BB 305 off to be able to do this. The area is pretty and I loved being able to hang out on the deck in the morning and look at the sky and take it all in. The 3 bedrooms are very nice and about what we expected size wise. The Living room/Dining and Kitchen were bigger than anticipated. The decor is upscale rustic and really fits with the surroundings. We drove to Grandstand and took the bus to MK from there instead of taking the shuttle over to the main section of SS. And we drove to Epcot and Disney Springs. The pool wasn't far from our treehouse and it was a very peaceful and enjoyable time. If we ever get the chance to stay here again we will!

Pros:

Beautiful, great theme, wonderful maid service, great Cms everywhere we encountered them.

Cons:

No drawer space for those staying in the living room. There is a closet but we had the teens in the living room keep their clothes in on of the other bedrooms for the drawers.

Review of Pop Century Resort (Value Resort)

This is usually my resort of choice however this most recent trip will probably be my last at this resort. First we had tickets to the Halloween party on Sunday night and while I understand check in is at 3 pm I’m the past we have been accommodated very well upon arrival. I did online check in at 11 am for 12 and when we arrived at the hotel at 2 we were told that they were unable to accommodate despite the Halloween tickets and the fact that my two parents both had scooters. We were stuck in the waiting area for two hours when finally I asked at the desk again at 4 pm and the cast member informed me that the manager hadn’t checked the room yet but she could reassign me another one. I explained the situation and she begrudgingly did just that. We stayed Sunday through Saturday and our sheets were never changed once. This is the first time we have ever had a bad experience At this resort but hearing other stories when we were on the buses just made me realize that while the prices keep going up ( which I am ok with if I get good service) the service goes down. I hate having to place this review but as I stated we heard similar stories about bad housecleaning, extremely long waits for rooms and luggage delays. It’s sad as this was one of my favorite resorts even above some of the other more premium ones.

Pros:

Buses come quickly for the most part. Bus drivers were amazing at accommodating ecvs.

Cons:

Had to wait for a room past check in time even when staff was aware of our already purchased tickets. Felt very little of the Disney magic at this resort.

Review of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (Magic Kingdom)

I took my wife because it was advertised as limited tickets. I kept reading crowds would be low. It was more crowded that night than all the regular days we were there!! The great lines were soooooo long. Character greetings were up to 3 hours. We even went on a tuesday. The parade was nice, as was the fireworks, but we had to wait an hour to leave or get trampled on! Very disappointed.

Pros:

Fireworks, parade

Cons:

Crowds were worse I've ever experienced

Attended with a party of 5 on Sunday 9/29. Thought Sunday would be good for crowds, but boy were we mistaken. Disney way oversold this event. Crowds were horrendous. It was less busy during the day. The Hocus Pocus show was good, the Fireworks were great, the parade was ok. Save your $ - we'll never attend a separate ticketed event again.

Pros:

Fireworks and Hocus Pocus show.

Cons:

The crowds and cost

2019 was a flop. We’ve been six years running... I guess nothing can stay good forever. Horrible crowds... staff didn’t leave walk ways open... just disappointing compared to years past. I feel guilty for recommending people to go... making me look bad Disney.

Pros:

Food... firework show...

Cons:

Everything else

Awful!! Save your money! The crowds are horrible, worse than normal operating hours. Forget meeting any special characters because they only let about 20-25 in line then close the line. Wait times for rides were still the same. Workers didn't know where the parades were going through then made us move right before and said sorry you can probably see the parade by the gate or the fireworks but now there's no place to see both. There was garbage everywhere. Save your money and go to Universal. It is beautiful, clean, and they provide air conditioning while waiting in lines. Disney needs to take notes. Disney just looks old run down. It's sad really. There is no magic anymore.

Pros:

Good music.

Cons:

Expensive, old, dirty, no magic, just working at packing in crowds and not the experience.

Surprisingly Good. I hadn't eaten here in 15 years because the last times I did, the food was terrible and the CM weren't the best. We made a last minute ADR for 8 people for my friend's daughter's 3rd birthday. We arrived 20 minutes early and were seated 20 min after our ADR time. I wasn't told at check-in that supposedly they were running 15 minutes late, despite seeing open tables. We were seated on the left side of the restaurant all the way in the back. But that was fine...not too noisy and still saw the characters. The food has really changed for the better. The peel n eat shrimp were the star of the show for our group. My friend's husband at one point ate just a plateful of those. The pasta was delicious and cooked perfectly. Same for the piergoies. Others said the meats were delicious. It was $50 per person, but we talked about it later on and said if we had gotten a burger, fries and drink from a QS place, that would have been $25 per person at least. And we'd be hunting for a table and probably have to eat again later on thus another $20-25. Instead we sat down in a nice restaurant, with cold AC (it was a tad hot), didn't have to fight for a table, could stay as long as we wanted, eat a lot and not rush. I'd go back again.

Pros:

Food

Cons:

price but it is Disney

Review of Jiko - The Cooking Place - Jambo House

I would give Jiko 100 stars if I could. This place is amazing. The food was great and the service is tops. We dined here on 9/27/19. My DH got the bone-in rib eye and I ordered the filet with the Mac and cheese. Both dishes were outstanding.
If you are on Mickey overload, please give Jiko a try. You won’t be disappointed. Just remember, it is signature dining and has a requested dress code of resort casual.

Pros:

Service Food Atmosphere

Cons:

None

This was a two in one for us. First and last. I gave it two stars for the parade, which I could have sat at home and watched on YouTube and saved a bunch of money. Crowds were awful. Disney did an injustice to the resort guests by selling unlimited access tickets to locals.

Pros:

Parade, fireworks

Cons:

Crowds, long lines, grumpy Disney employees.
