Braised Red Cabbage

Ingredients

 2 pounds or 1 head shredded red cabbage 

1 teaspoon caraway seed 

2 teaspoons salt pinch ground cloves 

2 ½ cups granulated sugar 

3 cups white vinegar  

 

Method of Preparation

  1. Place all of the ingredients in a large sauce pan.
  2. Stir together thoroughly.
  3. Bring to a boil. 
  4. Then reduce heat to a simmer. 
  5. Cook until tender, stirring occasionally.
