Roller Coaster Suddenly Stops Just Before 89-Foot Drop as Riders Are Stuck 202 Feet in the Air

Have you ever been stuck on a ride? Granted, in Disney World, some rides are fun to be stuck on. We’ll always enjoy being stuck in the ballroom scene on Haunted Mansion, so we can have more time to study every detail. We also love getting stuck on the PeopleMover because it just gives us some relaxing time to enjoy Tomorrowland away from all the people.

However, getting stuck on a roller coaster isn’t so much fun, and some riders recently had a bad experience with that in Australia.

According to People, a group of riders was stranded on the DC Rivals Hypercoaster at Warner Bros. Movie World in Australia on April 8th. The coaster is the “tallest, longest and fastest HyperCoaster in the Southern Hemisphere.” It stands at a whopping 200 feet tall, with a maximum speed of 71 miles per hour.

Even worse, the riders were trapped on the roller coaster’s steep incline right before the ride’s 89-degree drop in the middle of the day with temperatures around 86°F.  According to witnesses, theme park employees had handed the riders black umbrellas to help shield them from the harsh sun.

A spokesperson for the theme park confirmed that there was a “stoppage” on this roller coaster, and that it was due to “a ride sensor activation.” However, all riders remained safe, and employees were in “constant communication” with them before they were evacuated from the safe stop zones and directed to walk down the lift hill. The following was also posted to the theme park’s social media accounts:
