A Popular Harry Potter Attraction Is CLOSING Tomorrow at Universal Orlando

Heads up Universal visitors: One of the most iconic elements of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is about to (briefly) close.

Ollivander’s, the game-changing store/experience hybrid located at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, is closing for a brief refurbishment tomorrow, February 26th. And by brief, we mean BRIEF, as the location is scheduled to reopen on February 27th.

Ollivander’s has been a major part of Universal’s original Wizarding World of Harry Potter since the land opened back in 2010. Recreating the beloved “wand chooses the wizard” sequence from Potter lore, the experience features a show where a member of the audience is selected to be part of the show and is “chosen” by a wand in a special effects-laden presentation.

The wand chooses you!

The show participant has the option to purchase that wand in the store portion, which also has other custom and film replica character wands available.

The Ollivander’s experience was one of the revolutionary parts of the Potter experience on opening, combining retail, show, and immersive theming in a way that had never been seen in a theme park before, and that both Disney and Universal themselves have been attempting replicate in the decade+ since.
