CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Disney World’s NEW Hotel Made Some Major Progress

These days, it feels like there’s almost always construction going on around Disney World! The theme parks, especially Animal Kingdom, feel more like Wall Disney World.

Disney isn’t just focused on the parks, though; they’re also working on expanding their hotel offerings! The upcoming Lakeshore Lodge hotel has been on our radar for years, and these latest construction photos have us very excited for what’s coming.

Lakeshore Lodge is getting closer to opening! The brand-new hotel has been in development for several years and is supposed to open sometime in 2027. Thanks to these new photos, we are feeling pretty good about that timeline! These photos are thanks to bioreconstruct over on X.

The hotel has really been taking shape over the last few months, and we love seeing each wing clearly! You can see where each room will be, and this hotel is clearly going to be huge.

These photos are giving us an even clearer view of the pool coming to the hotel. That lazy river is looking GOOD! We can already picture ourselves floating in the most relaxed way in 2027.

There were some major updates in these photos as well, like the fact that it seems like maybe a bridge is being built over the river.

You can see the potential bridge in the top left of the photo below. It will make it easier for guests to move around the pool without the need to splash through that relaxing area.

We also spotted a good amount of construction on the pool’s clubhouse. We’re eager to see what will pop up in this spot! We’re hoping for some tasty treats and sips.

Along the edge of the property, we also noticed some decent progress on the hotel’s villa construction. Just one month ago, these were just skeletons of the buildings. 

These villas are really taking shape! We know that this Disney Vacation Club resort is going to blow us away. Some of the buildings are also finally sporting what looks like their completed roofs!

There’s also something super satisfying about the way they’re curved along the property. This is going to be a pretty stroll once all of the greenery grows in!

There’s also a bit of dock construction going on, which we think will be where the resort’s boat transportation will pick you up and drop you off for your Magic Kingdom days.

We’re also loving the pops of color that are appearing along the top of the hotel, although we don’t know if that is what the final aesthetic will be! In the photo below, you can also spot the port cochere coming to life, which has been a staple in the hotel’s concept art.

This DVC resort is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” It’s in the Magic Kingdom Resort area, and Disney has already hinted that several familiar faces will be seen throughout the design features, like Bambi, Flower, and Thumper.
