Arrival days are often overlooked when planning a Disney vacation — but that may be about to change! Disney has revealed a new summer update that transforms what used to be a “settle in” day into something far more exciting (and they’re giving you choices!)

If you’re dreaming of a summer Disney World vacation, this one’s going straight onto the very exciting list — because Disney has officially confirmed that both of its water parks will be open during summer 2026. And yes, there’s a little extra magic sprinkled on top!

Between May 26th and September 8th, Disney World hotel guests will receive free admission to a Walt Disney World water park on their check-in day. That means your vacation can start with a splash (literally!) before you even set foot in the theme parks.

What makes this announcement even better is that both Disney water parks will be open during this time. You’ll be able to choose between the tropical vibes of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, known for its wave pool and laid-back island feel, or the snowy (yes, snowy) fun of Disney’s Blizzard Beach, complete with thrill slides and family raft rides. Whether your crew prefers chill floats or high-energy slides, there’s a water park that fits your family’s vibe perfectly!

This perk is a great way to maximize your arrival day — especially since check-in days often feel like a “bonus” day rather than a full park day. Instead of rushing to a theme park or waiting for your room to be ready, you can head straight to a water park, cool off, and ease into vacation mode without using a theme park ticket.

It’s also a huge win for families visiting during the summer heat. Having both water parks available gives guests more flexibility, spreads out crowds, and adds an extra layer of fun to an already magical trip.
