Disney Is Trying To Start a NEW Souvenir Trend for 2026. Will It Pay Off?

Calling all Star Wars fans! Disney just announced a new monthly release coming to the Disney Store that you 100% won’t want to miss!

Starting in January, a new series focused on some of the most iconic droids from the Star Wars universe, including films, Disney+ originals, animation, gaming, and publishing, will begin to drop on a monthly basis. It’s called Droid Factory Friday, and the first release is dropping THIS week! 

Droid Factory Friday is a new series that will release on the first Friday of every month at 8 AM PT (11 AM ET), starting this upcoming Friday, January 2nd. Each droid is uniquely designed and features upgraded, intricate design elements, making the droids extra special for collectors and fans. You’ll also get a character trading card with each droid featuring key details and artwork of the character, and if you collect all the droids from January-June, you’ll get bonus droid pieces in each release that you can use to build a special BONUS droid!

Releasing first is the R5-K6 from Star Wars: A New Hope.

Then, on February 6th, a CW-24 droid will be released, inspired by The Mandalorian.

On March 6th, a Q2-K2 drone inspired by The Clone Wars will be released!

At this time, those are the only droids that we know will be released, but we’ll keep a close eye on more announcements! These droids will also be available inside Disney World and Disneyland, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for them there as well.
