DRAGON ALERT! Dragons Spotted Flying Over Epic Universe

RED ALERT! RED ALERT! I am currently freaking out because Epic Universe is doing something pretty dang epic, and if Universal released an annual pass for the park, I would be there right now.

My personal favorite part of Epic Universe is How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, where one of my favorite movies truly comes to life, and I feel like I can fly with Hiccup and Toothless. Well, something Universal has been teasing for six months finally hit the skies!

These drone dragons (or dronegans, haha) fly around the Isle of Berk, making it a more immersive experience where you really feel like you’re truly visiting a land where dragons are everyone’s pets. Epic Universe was testing these right before the park opened, but once it opened in May, it was rare to see them fly.

A real dragon in Isle of Berk

It’s been quite a few months since we’ve heard of any dragons flying around (well, besides Toothless in the Untrainable Dragon show, and I can assure you that I cried when I saw it for the first time). Could this mean more dragons are on the way?

You can currently purchase single-day tickets to Epic Universe, or tickets as part of vacation packages, but Universal hasn’t released an annual pass option yet. If you’ve been wanting to go, it’s starting to get a bit colder in Orlando, and while one of our biggest problems with the park was the lack of shade, now might be a great time to go experience the new park. The park isn’t even a year old yet and is the newest park in the Orlando theme park family.
