These LONG Lines Put Disney World Wait Times to Shame

If you didn’t know, there are Disney Resorts all around the world!

Recently, Quincy stopped by Hong Kong Disneyland to join in on the park’s 20th Anniversary Celebration. During our stop at the resort, we were shocked by one thing in particular that we had never seen before at any Disney park, and we would bet you’ll be shocked too!

There are so many things to see and do in Hong Kong Disneyland! You can watch the Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle, catch the Friendtastic parade,  and see some rare Disney characters that we don’t have in the U.S.

If you didn’t know, some of the most popular Disney characters at the international parks are Duffy and his friends! Duffy and Friends are sweet characters that are just as popular (if not more so) than Mickey himself. You might think that’s not possible, but it’s true! How do we know? The shocking wait times for Duffy and his friends. 

During our days in the park, the longest ride line in the park was 35 minutes, while the Duffy and Friends meet and greet wait was 4 HOURS LONG. This is no joke; it was a four-hour wait for these characters.

Now these characters do tend to see long waits pretty much any day of the week, but when new outfits debut, the lines get even longer. These characters are immensely popular on any day, but Hong Kong Disneyland is more of a “locals’ park.” This means that a majority of people visiting are there not for the first time, and they’re looking for something new and unique experiences, like new character outfits. 

If you’re a huge Duffy fan, like our team is, you should definitely consider rope dropping these characters and then focusing on lines throughout the rest of the day. Duffy and his pals have started making more appearances in the U.S. parks during events like Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios and Disneyland after an initially unsuccessful launch of the characters in the 2010s.

Duffy and his friends are slowly coming back to the American Disney parks, but they are still nowhere near as popular here as they are in the international parks. We’re hoping for more of these characters in the future, but if we need an excuse to head to Hong Kong Disneyland, we will happily use Duffy as the reason!
