Did Disney Just Reveal a WALKING Baby Groot Animatronic?!

Disneyland Resort will be opening its new Avengers Campus on June 4th this summer.

Here, guests will be able to walk among the Avengers, sling webs with Spider-Man in a new ride, chow down on eats and drinks at three new dining locations, and watch exclusive shows hosted by heroes, such as Dr. Strange. And, while we knew that we would be able to meet some of our favorite Avenger characters like Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther, there’s one unlikely hero that we didn’t expect to be joining the campus!

While you’re unlocking your superpowers and exploring the campus, you might stumble upon…Baby Groot?! In a recent media presentation, not only did Disney share a potential REAL lightsaber, but they also briefly shared what appeared to be a new Baby Groot animatronic! But this wasn’t just any animatronic — it was one that can walk around and interact with guests all on its own!

As part of the media presentation, guests were asked not to share any screenshots, but the animatronic appeared to be a few feet tall, and walked around on its own while wearing Baby Groot’s iconic red jacket.

While we’re not sure where this animatronic could be used, it certainly seems like the beloved character would fit well interacting with guests in Avengers Campus! We’ll be sure to share pictures as Disney releases official ones.

We can’t wait to be able to experience the new Avengers Campus this summer and hope to stumble upon Baby Groot at least a few times while we’re there! Stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
