Disney merch usually toes the line between magical and mildly ridiculous — but there’s one that definitely crossed it.

We’ve seen our fair share of oddities in Disney gift shops. Some are quirky in a charming way, others are… well, let’s just say they probably looked better in the concept sketch. But every now and then, something emerges from the merchandise vaults that makes us stop in our tracks — and not in a “wow, I need that!” kind of way. Nope, this was a “what in the world is THAT?” moment, and now we can’t unsee it.
This Alien Popcorn Bucket Keychain Haunts Us
Let’s start with the culprit: a tiny, plastic keychain version of the Alien Popcorn Bucket that has taken a dark, terrifying turn. You know the little green guys from Toy Story — the claw-worshipping cuties who just want to be chosen? Yeah, well, this version looks like it’s been possessed by something sinister.

We first spotted it at Mouse Gear in EPCOT, but it turns out this thing had been stalking both coasts, because it also showed up at World of Disney in Downtown Disney in California. So, no one is safe.

Now, in theory, this was supposed to be a mini version of the beloved popcorn bucket. But something got seriously lost in translation. This little guy’s eyes are bulging like he’s just seen something no alien should ever see. And the mouth? It’s not “smiling.” It’s foaming. Or maybe that’s drool? We’re honestly not sure, and that’s part of what makes it so unsettling.

From a distance, you might mistake it for something cute or collectible. But get a little closer, and it starts to feel like the start of a B-grade horror movie. You half expect it to blink when you’re not looking. Is this what happens when the aliens don’t get chosen?

We’re not here to shame anyone who buys it — maybe there’s a niche audience out there who loves slightly creepy collectibles. But we are here to say: don’t clip this thing to your backpack unless you’re ready to explain what it is to every person who catches a glimpse and instinctively recoils.
But Wait, There’s More — Wicket Is No Longer Cute and Cuddly
Just when we thought the merch nightmare was over, Disney dropped another gem: the Wicket Ewok Collector’s Plush. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

For decades, Ewoks have been softened and teddy-bear-ified in every possible way. But Return of the Jedi fans know the truth — those little forest creatures are not to be trifled with. They were about to roast Han and Luke like marshmallows until C-3PO played god. These aren’t woodland fuzzballs. These are tiny warriors with a taste for meat.

So in a strange twist of honesty, Disney had released a Wicket plush that… actually looks terrifying. This thing is massive — over 3 feet tall — and somehow captures the “I will 100% trap you in a net and eat you for dinner” vibe a little too well.

The eyes are a bit too intense. The expression is just a little too vacant. And if you leave this plush in your living room overnight, don’t be surprised if your dog refuses to go in there the next day.

Would We Still Buy It? Well… Maybe.
Here’s the thing — as weird and terrifying as both the Alien keychain and the Wicket plush are, we kind of get the appeal. There’s something hilarious about how wrong they are. Like that one friend who collects cursed dolls or insists on watching horror movies at 8AM — you know it’s weird, but it’s also kind of iconic.
So if you’re the type who loves the slightly strange side of Disney merch, keep your eyes peeled. You never know what you’re going to find buried on a shelf behind a wall of Mickey mugs and Minnie ears.
