I’m gonna come in hot, so be prepared. I just rode Stardust Racers at Epic Universe. Wow, wow, wow. How do I explain this feeling? THIS IS THE GREATEST COASTER OF ALL TIME. Does that set the tone for you?

I’ll be honest with you. I don’t like roller coasters that much. They’re often too intense for me. They make me feel bad. But Stardust Racers? I love this roller coaster. It is incredible. I need to talk about it.
Stardust Racers is a dual-launch racing coaster featuring a cosmic, comet theme that complements the Celestial Park setting. The ride reaches speeds up to 62 mph and heights up to 133 feet along 5,000 feet of track. This is the most thrilling coaster in Epic Universe, and BOY does it live up to that claim. The coaster vehicles perform an inverted crisscross at full speed.

I rode this coaster during the day, but I’ve heard that there is no external track lighting at night, so the ride vehicles literally look like comets shooting through the sky. WHAT?!
Here are some of the ride stats for you:
- Minimum Height 48″
- Child Swap available
- This ride is part of the Universal Express Pass program
- You must drop off your items in a locker before you can ride the coaster
- These lockers use the new photo validation technology

There’s also a test seat outside the attraction.

OK, now let me gush about this ride for a second. Although this coaster was intense, it did not make me feel bad at all. That’s rare for a high-speed coaster like this! Speaking of speed, it was so fast; it never slowed down. There are launches, inversions, and the amount of airtime you get is in.sane.

I was going up a hill; I was zooming down the hill. I was swooping through mist. I was face-to-face with the other train. YES — you’re really riding right alongside the other ride car. In fact, that was one of the coolest things about this coaster — it’s made all the more thrilling by the fact that you can see the other train racing alongside you. Seriously — I don’t have words. This is the best coaster of all time.

I will note that even though you’re riding pretty much in sync with the other train, the two experiences are a little different. For example, one side goes upside down, and the other side doesn’t (I went on the side that didn’t go upside down (yellow), but it was still really intense with plenty of airtime).

A lot of time on roller coasters, it’s easy to lose perspective and not fully understand the kind of movements your body is going through. But on Stardust Racers? You can SEE the other ride car and see exactly what is happening to it, which makes you inherently aware of what’s happening to you, too. It was un.be.lie.va.ble, unbelievable. I literally can’t believe it.
If I had to compare it to a few other roller coasters, here’s what I’d say.
This is the most fun I’ve had on a roller coaster in a long time. If you can imagine how much fun you had on EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Coaster, or Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Stardust Racers is right up there when we’re ranking the level of FUN. That said, this ride doesn’t have the same level of theming as those coasters. To me, Hagrid’s is a great ride; Stardust Racers is an incredible roller coaster.

Thinking back to the first time I rode Jurassic World VelociCoaster, for example, I remember feeling scared. That ride was physically a little too intense for me. I started nervously and ended the ride still feeling nervous. But on Stardust Racers, I forgot I was scared within 10–15 seconds.

Even Mako at SeaWorld Orlando was an intense, scary (to me) roller coaster. What I love about that ride is the airtime you get, and honestly, Stardust Racers provided a similar airtime experience. Can you tell I am VERY passionate about this new coaster? RIDE IT!

I would recommend this to anyone who is even remotely interested in roller coasters — that’s how good it is. I would ride Stardust Racers again right now, and I would ride it again 12 times today if I could. Do yourself a favor and hop in line; you’ll have a blast!
